This is the result after five layers of white primer and some water-sanding . The surface was smooth enough but I was unable to achive a fully polished look.
Don't worry man! We've all been there... You just have to keep on triyng, Painting and sanding again and again untill you get the trick. I would suggest that you use a compressor or a turbine sistem to paint instead of spray cans, though. You'll see how your work improves!
I did use a compressor! The real problem is that the frame was stored for a long time in a salty environment that spoiled/pitted the tube's sufarce. Taking into account the overall weight I must assume that the builder used thin walled tubes so machine sanding was not an option. Anyway, the results are no that bad and I hope that a couple of layers of glossy lacquer will help. I'm now patiently waiting for a replica of the original Romani decals to finish up the job.
